Chimney goes

There's a whole in the roof where the chminey was.
The inside of the chimney - (the flue). Apparently this is the correct way to build a chimney. It must not go straight up.
Note the 70 years of soot caking the inside of the chimney.

Well, our beautiful trenches are no longer an example to the rest of the build trade. Two weeks of rain has caused them to collapse in places and we've even had ground water welling up in the trenches inside. It would seem we are not going to get our plans out of council until the end of the week. 10 days means 10 days. Would you believe there is only one man approving plans in Cape Town? What is the world coming to? Our flat seems to be heading for trouble with the planning Dept wanting a site inspection!
