Moving to our temporary home

We moved on Thursday. It rained cats and dogs on thursday and friday. Saturday was nice and rain again on sunday. The two older boys spent 2 days with Nonna and gramps so that we could make headway with the unpacking.

Now we have all our stuff in our temporary home. The kitchen stuff appears to fit in OK. The kids toys have taken over the lounge - that's OK. The three boys are in the main bedroom. Mum and Dad are in the courtyard room and the study is at the front - although there are a few boxes there at the moment. Hopefully we will find the study under all that. Mum and Dad's room is cramped but this gives us a good opportunity to get rid of some of our stuff. Watch this sapce.

Empty House!

Here are some "before" pictures. Everything is out (almost). Bit of a problem with all the stuff in the garage. We underestimated how much valuable (ie we need to hord a little longer) stuff there is. Seeing that our temporary home only has a single garage and we need to park a car there. That could be difficult.

Philip (the builder) has suggested that he will build a wall at the end of the garage where we can keep the stuff.

Last days

End of April approaches. In the last throws of packing. Some little boys want to be packed in the boxes.

Our temporary home

While we are doing our renovations, we will be staying down the road at Oupa's house.

Here is Alick having a look down the passage. Hopefully we can fit everything in the house.

Estimates are that we will be there 6 months. This could be wishful thinking and is probably because we would want it to be only 6 months and then be back in by the end of the year... We shall see.


Here, Benedict has a look around under the watchful eyes of mum. Interestingly enough, Daniel was the same age as Ben is now when we originally left oupa's house 6 years ago.

OK. So before you start, you need a plan. Here is ours.

There is some worry from me as we still need to get the approval. Apparently this wot take more than 3 weeks.
